Istanbul

Istanbul is a city full of contradiction and that's what makes it mostly so charming : Muslim but strangely with a very weak arabic trend, established definitely in the East for its biggest part (97 %) and so much americanized (Army materials and many investment such as speed boats for controls carry also the American flag for instance).

In this country of more than 120 million people and in this city of 15 million people, anyone can feel the huge mix of European, Muslim and Asian Cultures, which is in fact Turkish Culture. Those people are contrary to most West European Prejudices, much more welcoming and tolerant than most of them and very careful to the good image of their country given to foreigners. Everything comes from the fact that West European are afraid only because they are mostly Muslim, but much more tolerant than catholic culture in many of those countries, and their practice is seldom extremist. They are more almost then France and Germany together in term of population figures and their army is the strongest and best equipped in number of soldiers and weapons, after their friend the US.

The way of life of those people is pretty much the same than in every most developed Western European countries but their manners and food are adapted to their religion.

Istanbul is a diamond at the cross-road of 2 continents: European and Asian are so much jealous about their geo-strategic position that they do not wish to incorporate this country in a situation in between.

Friday: I have been welcomed so well by my friend Görkem from there and all his roomates and friends that it really touched me.

Saturday
: I have been visiting the Bosphorus Detroit and experienced night life in the city center in the best fashioned Electro Places.

Sunday: I've been to the Princess Island, which is more or less a beautiful former Greek Island, where the wealthiest people live in the calm and they take their own boat to go to work in the city center (more or less 30 minutes to the Harbour). Cars are forbidden so everyone use bicycles or Caleche's Taxi to move inside the island.

Tomorrow İ will go to groceries (retailers) and supermarkets to work on my project and if I got some time left I will visit Sultanah with Saint Sophia Palace in the afternoon.
